Burt and Mollie had just gone out of town for two weeks. They thought Kurt would be all right with the babysitter while they were gone. There was no way they could have known what kind of monster they had handed their four-year-old son off to. Heavy trigger warnings.
Kurt knew his father loved him, he just didn’t realise how hard Burt found it at times. Burt didn’t mean what he said; not really. He was just tired, and talking with an old football friend reminded him a bit too much of what he had given up for Kurt.
Burt stiffens. At first, Burt thinks that he only does that because of the perceived insult to his child. It takes a few minutes for him to realise that there’s a second reason. It’s the voice. That voice. The voice from the phone call. The voice that called his son a fag.
